Comments Policy

Your comments under my articles are most welcome and very much appreciated. My moderation policy is very simple:

  • no insults
  • no ad hominem attacks
  • no accusations unsupported by evidence (or your own name-signed testimony)
  • no gratuitously rude language
  • no ridicule or patronising of your fellow commenters

I prefer if you comment under your real names, but pseudonymous/anonymous comments are allowed. I reserve however the right to moderate those if I feel the anonymity is being abused for trolling etc. Please leave your functioning email contact (only I will see it), so I can contact you if there is a need.

I use standard WordPress moderation settings, which usually require my approval of new commenters or comments with a certain number of hyperlinks. This is because I occasionally receive comments with the above issues. If your comment did not appear online even after several hours, that will be probably because it’s night time in Germany, or I presently have no internet access. Your comment will appear as soon as I am online, otherwise feel free to contact me.

WordPress filters spam comments, it happened already several times that a genuine reader comment ended in my spam folder. I check it from time to time, but best if you contact me if you think your comment accidentally ended up in spam or was overlooked.

And finally, please try to keep your comments short, wherever possible. It’s in your own interest, if you want others to actually read them.
